Re: furthur |
There was a business plan in place in the 90s for a post Grateful Dead touring destination in San Francisco to be labeled "Terrapin Station". The originators of this concept and the proposed investors got cold feet and the project was shelved.
This was intended to be the ultimate “Dead Head Disneyland” a combined concept of virtual live Grateful Dead concert re-enactments such as DSO, some archive trophy displays that are now on display at UC Santa Cruz and other concert venue type amenities.
With all the Furthur, Phil & Friends, and DSO conversation recently why are there so few artists breaking any new musical ground today? Indeed, the internet has fragmented the music industry, but if Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber can fill stadiums, there must still be unlimited possibilities and an available audience somewhere out there.
